The Challenge

A medical device company preparing for a potential acquisition had a significant pipeline of new products approaching launch, creating important questions around engineering readiness, production ramp-up, manufacturing capacity, and supply chain execution.

The buyer needed confidence that the company could successfully bring its upcoming medical components and devices into production while maintaining quality, controlling cost, and avoiding execution issues that could affect the investment case. TriVista was engaged to evaluate both near-term launch readiness and the broader operational platform supporting future growth.

Our Approach

TriVista conducted a Quality of Operations™ due diligence assessment across the company’s operating locations, combining site visits, management interviews, facility walkthroughs, and detailed operational analysis.

The team evaluated engineering and manufacturing capabilities, production capacity, SIOP processes, supply chain performance, and the controls supporting new product introduction. Particular attention was given to the company’s ability to transition products from development into stable, repeatable production.

TriVista also reviewed launch and ramp-up plans across the company’s upcoming product pipeline, identifying where additional structure, planning discipline, or operational improvements could reduce risk and improve execution.

The Results

The diligence uncovered substantial financial upside while also validating the company’s readiness to support its upcoming product launches.

TriVista identified more than $2.3 million in potential EBITDA improvement through productivity gains, reduced rework and scrap, and strategic purchasing initiatives. The review also surfaced approximately $1.8 million in potential cash savings through improved inventory turns, vendor-managed inventory, and stronger strategic supplier relationships.

Just as importantly, the assessment confirmed that the company’s engineering controls and manufacturing ramp-up processes were sufficiently robust to support the planned product launches. This gave the buyer greater confidence in both the near-term launch pipeline and the broader operational foundation of the business.

By combining risk validation with quantified value-creation opportunities, TriVista provided a clearer view of the company’s operational strengths, improvement potential, and ability to support growth following the transaction.
