A workplace AI assistant that helps staff write, research, and analyze data, kept private and never used to train the model.
An AI assistant that searches a company's own documents and apps to answer staff questions, now closed to new customers by AWS.
Amazon Q Business is an AI assistant that helps employees find information inside their own company's systems. Staff ask a question in plain language and get an answer with source citations, pulled from documents, databases, and apps like Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Slack. It can also take actions in those systems, with more than 50 supported. It is made by AWS. Admins set up the data connectors, apply role-based permissions so answers respect existing access rights, and use topic filters to block certain content. It works inside Chrome, Edge, Slack, Teams, Outlook, and Word as a browser extension or add-in. As of July 31, 2026, AWS stopped accepting new Amazon Q Business customers and now points buyers to its successor, Amazon Quick.
This once fit a company running heavily on AWS that wanted internal search wired into Jira, Salesforce, and document stores, with pricing starting at a few dollars per user per month. That has changed. Since July 31, 2026, AWS no longer accepts new Amazon Q Business customers, so any evaluation starting now should focus on Amazon Quick, the product AWS is steering both new and existing customers toward. A company with an existing deployment can keep using it, and AWS still provides bug fixes and security patches, but it should plan a migration path rather than expand its investment. Starting fresh here means building a workflow around a product AWS has already signaled it wants to retire.
