An AI search, chat, and agent layer built into Jira and Confluence, included in most paid Atlassian plans rather than sold separately.
Atlassian Rovo is an AI layer that works across Jira, Confluence, and related Atlassian tools. Staff use Rovo Search to find information across connected apps, Rovo Chat to ask questions in plain language, and Rovo Agents to automate steps in a workflow, such as drafting a ticket update or summarizing a project's status. A Deep Research mode runs longer, multi-step research tasks. It connects these tools through what Atlassian calls the Teamwork Graph. Rovo is bundled into paid Atlassian Cloud subscriptions, not sold as a separate license. Each plan tier includes a monthly pool of AI credits; heavier features like Agents and Deep Research draw down that pool, while plain search does not.
This fits a company already running Jira, Confluence, or Atlassian's Teamwork Collection, since Rovo works inside tools staff already use with no new interface to learn. A practical starting point is turning it on for one team on a Standard or Premium plan and tracking how often Chat or Agents get used against the included credit pool. Rovo has no separate list price for existing customers; the real cost question is which Atlassian plan tier a company needs, since higher tiers include larger credit pools. As of mid-2026, Atlassian was not yet billing separately for usage above the allowance and has promised at least 90 days' notice before that changes, so budget for that possibility rather than assuming credits stay unlimited.

Estimate assumptions: Based on 20 enabled users. This is a planning allowance, not verified product pricing. Confirm the vendor’s billing unit and current price or quote before budgeting.
Benefits have not been estimated: The current research does not estimate potential savings, return on investment, or how long it would take to recover the cost. Earlier benefit estimates are excluded.
Confirm current product identity, commercial packaging, data processing terms, sign-in and access rules, retention, integrations, support model, implementation effort, and rollback conditions.
Verify identity, package, availability, ownership, pricing, and security evidence before approving a pilot
Do not approve a pilot yet. Verify the current product identity, package, availability, owner, pricing, and security evidence; then define one workflow, a baseline, and rollback criteria.
Define what success looks like for a test of Atlassian Rovo and assign someone to lead it.
Once the requirements above are met, compare a small trial with how your team works today.
Track adoption, output quality, business results, and actual costs against the estimate.
Use the results to decide whether to stop, adjust, or expand the pilot.
Confirm encryption, how the vendor uses your data, customer data separation, how long data stays and how to delete it, activity records, sign-in and user setup, where data is handled, other companies that process data, past incidents, and what your team must manage.
Review before rollout: confirm how to export your data, revoke access, and return to your existing workflow. Assign an owner and test the rollback plan before expanding use.
